What is an Unlimited Data Plan?

An Unlimited Data Plan provides unlimited data throughout your plan validity. After reaching the daily high-speed data allowance, the connection speed will be reduced, while internet access will remain available for essential online activities.

How is the experience with speed limits on an Unlimited Plan?

After the high-speed data allowance is used, your speed is reduced to 5 Mbps. This is still fast enough for navigation, messaging, browsing, social media, and video calls, so you can stay connected throughout your trip.

Date calculation rules:

All plan time calculations follow a 24-hour cycle. The validity period begins when the plan is activated, and daily data or speed limits reset every 24 hours from the activation time.

How do installation and activation work?

Install and activate your eSIM within 30 days of receiving the QR code. Your plan starts immediately upon activation, and all validity and data cycles are calculated from that time.

Frequently Asked Questions

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that lets you activate a mobile data plan without using a physical SIM card. With iRoamly's Chile Republic eSIM, you can connect to local networks instantly, without visiting a store or swapping SIM cards.

Installation is quick and easy:

  • iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM and scan the QR code provided after purchase.
  • Android: Steps vary by brand—check Settings > Connections > SIM Manager (or similar), then scan the QR code.

You can also follow our step-by-step guide in the email you receive after purchase.

You can check our updated device compatibility list here: iRoamly eSIM Support List.

Yes. You can keep your primary SIM card active for calls or SMS while using your iRoamly eSIM for data. Just set iRoamly eSIM as your default for mobile data to avoid roaming charges.

If your plan supports top-ups, purchase an add-on from our store—no need to reinstall the eSIM. If your eSIM type does not support top-ups, buy a new eSIM plan and install it in minutes.

Yes, iRoamly travel eSIMs support hotspot and tethering. In rare cases, your device or operating system may limit hotspot sharing, but 95% of users can share data without issues.

No. This eSIM is for mobile data only. You can still make calls or send messages using apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Messenger.

It depends on your usage. For example, 1–3 GB is enough for light browsing and messaging, while 5–10 GB is better for streaming and heavy use. Use our iRoamly Data Calculator to find your ideal plan.

An eSIM is more convenient—you can connect instantly without carrying an extra device, worrying about battery life, or picking up/returning a rental.

Your plan starts from the moment you activate the eSIM on your device, not when you install it. To avoid early activation, install it before your trip but only turn on roaming when you arrive in Chile.

Most iRoamly eSIMs allow self-checking via the iRoamly app or website under 'My eSIM'. If your eSIM doesn't support this, contact support@iroamly.com for your balance.

We recommend installing it a few days before departure while you have a stable internet connection. Airport Wi-Fi can be slow and may cause installation issues. Installing won't activate it until you enable roaming in Chile.

The Chile Republic eSIM is data-only. For calls or texts, use internet-based apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Skype.

Right after purchase, your eSIM details will appear on-screen, in the iRoamly app, and in an email with your QR code. If you don't receive it within 15 minutes, check your email address for typos or contact support@iroamly.com.

You can request a refund if:

  • Your device is not compatible.
  • You cancel your trip or no longer need the eSIM.
  • You experience technical issues that cannot be resolved.

Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days to your original payment method. See our full Refund Policy for details.

Yes—if your phone supports dual SIM or eSIM. You can keep your physical SIM for calls/SMS and set iRoamly eSIM for data. Leaving your physical SIM's data roaming on may cause extra charges from your carrier.
