What is an Unlimited Data Plan?

An Unlimited Data Plan provides unlimited data throughout your plan validity. After reaching the daily high-speed data allowance, the connection speed will be reduced, while internet access will remain available for essential online activities.

How is the experience with speed limits on an Unlimited Plan?

After the high-speed data allowance is used, your speed is reduced to 5 Mbps. This is still fast enough for navigation, messaging, browsing, social media, and video calls, so you can stay connected throughout your trip.

Date calculation rules:

All plan time calculations follow UTC+0. The validity period begins when the plan is activated, and daily data or speed limit resets will occur according to UTC+0.

How do installation and activation work?

Install and activate your eSIM within 30 days of receiving the QR code. Your plan starts immediately upon activation, and all validity and data cycles are calculated from that time.

Check our complete list of supported devices here. Most modern smartphones, including dual-SIM phones and eSIM-enabled iPhones and Androids, are compatible.

Yes! You can use your primary SIM for calls and messages while the Malta eSIM handles your data. Just make sure your phone settings designate the eSIM for mobile data to avoid roaming charges.

Some Malta eSIM plans allow top-ups—simply purchase an add-on without reinstalling the eSIM. If your plan doesn’t support top-ups, you can buy a new eSIM and install it in minutes.

Yes! Most devices allow hotspot sharing using iRoamly eSIM. In rare cases, device restrictions may limit tethering, but 95% of users can share their connection without issues.

Data usage depends on your activities. For light browsing, maps, and messaging, smaller plans suffice. For streaming or navigation-heavy trips, choose a larger plan. Use our iRoamly Data Calculator to find the ideal plan.

An eSIM is more convenient—you don’t need to carry an extra device, worry about battery life, or pay for rentals. It works directly from your phone with instant connectivity.

Your eSIM’s validity begins when you activate it, not when installed. Install it before your trip, but don’t turn on roaming until you arrive in Malta. Activating at the destination starts the validity countdown.

Most Malta eSIMs allow you to check your remaining data via the iRoamly app or website. If your plan doesn’t support self-checks, contact support@iroamly.com for assistance.

We recommend installing your eSIM a few days before departure. A stable internet connection is required, so avoid relying on airport Wi-Fi. Don’t worry—activating roaming.

No, the Malta eSIM only provides data. For calls and texts, use messaging or VoIP apps like WhatsApp, Signal, or Skype.

After purchase, your eSIM appears in your iRoamly account and app, and you’ll get an email with the QR code within minutes. If you don’t see it after 15 minutes, double-check your email or contact support@iroamly.com.

Refunds may be available if:

  • Your device is incompatible.

  • You cancel your trip.

  • Network issues persist despite troubleshooting.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 3–5 business days. Read our Refund Policy for full details.

Yes! On dual-SIM devices, use your physical SIM for calls/SMS and the Malta eSIM for data. Make sure to select the eSIM for mobile data to avoid roaming charges on your primary SIM.
